Hornsea Three Non-Material Change application

Hornsea Three Offshore Wind Farm has submitted a Non-Material Change application to the Secretary of State (SoS) for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to amend the Development Consent Order (DCO) that was granted in 2020. The DCO requires the construction of four artificial nesting structures (ANS) as a compensation measure for the potential impacts of Hornsea Three on kittiwake along the English east coast.

The proposed amendment seeks to shorten the length of time the ANS need to be in place before Hornsea Three becomes operational. It calls for a change from four breeding seasons to three breeding seasons for two structures and two breeding seasons for the other two structures.

A copy of the NMC Application and its accompanying documents are available for inspection, free of charge, via the Planning Inspectorate’s website or the below links. Statutory and local stakeholders are invited to read the relevant documentation. Feedback on the application must be received by the Planning Inspectorate by 11.59pm on 16 February 2023
