New scholarships for STEM students at the University of East Anglia

Postgraduate and graduate students of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at the University of East Anglia (UEA) are invited to apply for £20,000 in scholarships.

School, college and university students took part in the Ørsted Hackathon. Supported by business leaders, the attendees worked in teams to create an innovative solution to climate change.

Two Ørsted Greener Future Scholarships are available: one undergraduate (£15,000 a year for three years) and one post-graduate (£5,000 for one year) to any student living in the Norfolk region, who also studied at secondary or sixth form level in the area.

To be eligible, students must demonstrate evidence of financial need, participation in extracurricular activities, and an interest in sustainability and a greener future.

The Scholarship Fund is now live and students should apply here for the undergraduate scholarship and here for the postgraduate scholarship before the deadline of Friday 31 May 2024.

Imran Nawaz, Senior Adviser at Ørsted said: “By investing in the education of young talent we are contributing to a greener future. We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the University of East Anglia – a leading authority in STEM subjects in the UK.”

The Scholarship Fund is part of the wider £100,000 Hornsea Three Community Benefit Skills Fund.
